Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Tierced in pairle Gules, Argent and Azure; in chief a mullet and in base an eagles head within a wreath of olive branch and arrows surmounted by scroll and quill, all Or; in fess point a terrestrial globe of the last.  Attached on either side of the shield is a Black scroll inscribed USURPARE ET SUSTINERE in Gold letters.

Symbolism
Scarlet (red), white and blue are the colors of our National flag and the Army Materiel Command, both of which the Battalion proudly serves.  The division of the shield is adapted from the Army Materiel Command insignia.  The eagle, scroll, quill, olive branch and arrows are taken from the Army Contracting Command insignia.  Gold is emblematic of excellence and black alludes to determination.  The globe represents worldwide capability and the gold star symbolizes the units guide for ethics and moral compass.  The motto translates to ACQUIRE AND SUSTAIN and represents mission support and force sustainment.
